  • International Women’s Day on 8 March is a world-wide celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also calls for action for women’s equality.

We are delighted that Kate Willard, Chair of the Thames Estuary Growth Board, chose to mark today by celebrating the very talented and dedicated women on the Board for their work - including Martha Grekos.

As Kate says "These high achieving women have an immense wealth of experience and perspective of working at the highest levels in different sectors. They have faced and challenged stereotyping and barriers throughout their careers. I asked them what one piece of advice would you have given your younger self to help you get where you are today?"

Martha's answer can be seen in Kate's diary which can be found here.

“Make sure you carry a very large sledgehammer to keep smashing down those glass ceilings. Anything is possible. Opportunities are there for the asking, there for the taking, and there for all of us who have the right skills.”

Let's all keep challenging the status quo.
